Pixar's Latest Animated Adventures
Pixar took center stage at this year's D23, showcasing their upcoming animated films. The biggest reveal was "Inside Out 2," a sequel to the beloved 2015 film. The sequel will explore Riley's emotions at a new stage of her life as a teenager.
Pixar also unveiled a first look at "Elemental," a new film set in a world where fire, water, air, and earth are sentient creatures. The film follows Ember, a fire elemental, and Wade, a water elemental, who must overcome their differences to work together.
Marvel's Cinematic Universe Expands
Marvel Studios made a major appearance at D23 with a slew of announcements about upcoming projects. The studio revealed the first trailer for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," which pays tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman while introducing a new Black Panther. Marvel also announced a Disney+ series based on the popular "Loki" character, as well as a new film featuring the Mighty Thor, Jane Foster.
Lucasfilm's Star Wars Updates
Lucasfilm provided updates on the upcoming "Star Wars" projects. Director Patty Jenkins unveiled a first look at "Rogue Squadron," a new film set in the X-Wing fighter universe. The studio also revealed a teaser trailer for "The Mandalorian" Season 3, featuring a returning Din Djarin and Grogu.
Walt Disney Animation's Live-Action Remakes
Walt Disney Animation Studios announced a live-action adaptation of their classic animated film, "The Little Mermaid." The film will star Halle Bailey as Ariel and Javier Bardem as King Triton. Disney also showcased a first look at "Peter Pan & Wendy," a live-action reimagining of their 1953 animated film.
Other Highlights
Disney+ unveiled a trailer for its upcoming "National Treasure" spinoff series, which follows a young woman searching for her missing father. The studio also announced a new "Indiana Jones" film starring Harrison Ford, as well as a documentary about Walt Disney Imagineering.
